Skin feeling dry? Blame the winter weather. Cold temps and dry air can leave skin feeling dry, flaky, and easily irritated. It’s enough to make you want to hibernate until spring arrives—if only that was an option. We rounded up some of our favorite tips, tricks and products for keeping skin hydrated (and glowing) despite the freezing temps.

Stay Hydrated

When you’re hydrated on the inside, it shows on the outside. Start every morning with a big glass of water and refill throughout the day.

Get a Humidifier

The dry air outside and inside your home (from artificial heat) during the winter months can wreak havoc on your skin. A humidifier will help add hydration back to the air in your home so your skin can retain more moisture. We have our eye on the one from Canopy. You can also save your skin by avoiding super hot water when showering or washing your face.

Add Collagen

Collagen is your skin’s BFF no matter what time of year it is. This protein makes up the structure of the connective tissues in your hair, skin, and nails — it’s basically the glue that holds your body together. Add a scoop of collagen powder to your daily smoothie—your skin will thank you. If you're looking for something savory to sip, reach for some bone broth (we’re fans of Brodo).

Try a Body Oil

For head-to-toe hydration, it’s all about body oil. Best applied right after you shower to damp skin, a good body oil will lock in moisture and leave skin feeling soft all day long. Just give it a minute or two to soak in before getting dressed.

Don’t Forget Your Hands

Every time you wash your hands (which these days, is a lot), apply your go-to hand cream. Keep your favorite right next to the sink so you don’t forget to slather some on.

Take Care While You Sleep

Hit reset on your skin while you sleep with an overnight mask. We’re all about using the Jones Road Miracle Cream as a mask. Made with shea butter and sunflower seed oil, it is ideal for adding moisture back into super dry skin. Apply before bed and wake up plump and refreshed skin.

Protect Yourself From the Elements

By now we all know it’s important to wear sunscreen every single day (no exceptions!), and it becomes even key if you’re spending a lot of time outdoors this winter. If you’re hitting the slopes or heading out on a winter hike, start with moisturizer and a layer of SPF and finish with Jones Road Hippie Stick. This buttery, do-it-all balm helps to create the perfect barrier for facing the elements. When it comes to your lips, reach for the Jones Road Lippie Stick.
