Alcohol-Free Drinks to Sip During Dry January

Whether you’re making a resolution to drink less this year, taking the month off after going hard during the holiday season (or all of 2021), or just curious about the world of non-alcoholic beverages, you’ve come to the right place.
The benefits of ditching alcohol (improved sleep, clearer skin, less headaches) are reason enough to lay off the sauce, but there’s also the fact the market for alcohol-free beverages has never looked better...or more delicious. Here are seven things to sip without having to worry about a hangover.
Ghia
This nonalcoholic apéritif is the brainchild of glossier alum Melani Masarin and it’s inspired by Mediterranean aperitivo culture. Made with earthy botanicals, no added sugars, and zero alcohol, it’s worthy of year round sipping. Try Le Spritz if you’re looking for something portable and with bubbles.
Acid League Wine Proxies
“Wine, but not.” That’s how Acid League describes their Wine Proxies, a rotating collection of layered blends of juices, teas, spices, and bitters. Just as complex as your favorite bottle of red, but without the alcohol. Make it a regular thing and sign up for the Proxies Club to get three new bottles each month.
Curious Elixirs
Craving a craft cocktail? Curious Elixirs offers six different takes on the booze-free cocktail, all made with superfoods and adaptogens. Their take on the Negroni (No. 1) is made with pomegranate, rhodiola, and gentian.
Figlia Fiore
With notes of orange, rose and bitter clove, Figlia’s Fiore is a non-alcoholic aperitivo made for easy sipping. Try it on the rocks with an orange peel or add sparkling water and a sprig of rosemary.
Aplós
If you’re looking for an all-natural way to unwind, reach for Aplós. It’s a plant-based, hemp-infused spirit formulated in collaboration with mixologist Lynnette Marrer (she’s a James Beard honoree and currently at New York City’s Llama Inn). With notes of citrus, ginger, and rosemary and 20 mg of broad-spectrum hemp, you won’t miss the alcohol one bit.
Amass Riverine
If a gin and tonic is what you’re going to be missing most, try Amass Riverine. With juniper, citrus, rosemary, and orris root, it pairs well with tonic and a slice of citrus. When February 1 rolls around, the brand will have you covered with hard seltzers and their own Dry Gin.
Kin Euphorics High Rhode
Kin Euphorics’ blends of adaptogens, botanicals, and nootropics are so good, Bella Hadid joined on as a cofounder. High Rhode is made with rhodiola rosea (to balance cortisol), 5-HTP (to elevate serotonin), and GABA (to calm the nervous system). Can’t think of a better way to de-stress after the holidays.
