We're in the midst of an extremely stressful time and it can be hard keep calm and not get overwhelmed. And while I haven't totally figured out how to be zen during times like this (or anytime for that matter), I do have a few tricks that help me calm down in the moment and get me back on track.
Go for a Walk
Taking a walk, even if you only have 10 minutes, is an amazing way to clear your head and reset. I try to get outside (even in the cold) to give myself space to think, unwind and reset. It’s like a walking meditation.
Pause & Breathe
I always say I’m going to make time to actually meditate, but in reality it rarely happens. What I do manage to make time for, especially during a super stressful time, is some deep breathing. Take five minutes, or even one minute, step away from whatever you are doing and take some deep breaths. Inhale for a count of five, hold for five, and exhale for a count of five. It will make a huge difference – you’ll feel it ASAP.
Body Work
I love nothing better than to soak in a hot tub with Epsom salt. 20 minutes later, the magnesium is making me feel like jello. I also love to get a home visit from my favorite massage therapist – which is my biggest indulgences.
Take a Chill Pill
I recently started incorporating Chill Gummies into my daily routine. It keeps me feeling calm and helps with stress. Derived from all-natural, broad spectrum hemp (with no THC), these gummies are the perfect antidote to everyday stress. Plus, they taste so good! You can order Chill here.
Make a Clean Cocktail
Vodka or tequila on the rocks are my favorite ways to really de-stress. A doctor told me once to take a sip and let it sit in your mouth for 30 seconds and it instantly goes into your bloodstream. This helps you avoid drinking it too quickly, and then being hit all at once.
