Bobbi's Top 5 Lipstick Tips

I personally don’t love lipstick, I am more of a balm or clear gloss girl. If I do wear any, usually for a photo, I use a nude pencil and mix it with balm so it’s not too dry or too wet. Lately, I have been using a clear peppermint gloss or a tinted balm with a hint of color.
But I do love a great lip on someone else. A great lip, to me, is one that is applied effortlessly. You don’t see a pencil outline and it’s not gooey. You should never have to blot your lipstick, if you do, it means you’re applying too much or you’re not using a great formula. Here are my five tips for mastering lipstick:
1. Formula
Choose from sheer, matte, balm, cream, or gloss.
2. Application
Apply first to your bottom lip and smack your lips together. Then use your fingers to blend on top. Bold colors will need more attention and precise application.
3. Color
Find an easy, no brainer color that you can apply without a mirror and throw on in a moments notice. Have a few shades on hand and don't be afraid to mix it up.
4. Use Blush on Your Lips
I used to use lipsticks as blush, a trick I learned from my grandmother. But now, I like to use blush and pat it on my lips. It’s more modern and a more real look than what you see on magazine covers.
5. Make it Last
You shouldn’t worry about making it last (it’s not supposed to). It fades and gets licked off, so keep the formula clean. You can always bite your lips for a flush of color if you need an instant pick-me-up or if you find yourself without a lipstick.
