Bobbi's 2019 Beauty & Wellness Tips

After 30 years in the beauty business and today as a certified health coach, I know what does and doesn’t work. Here are my tips for looking and feeling your best this year:

Stay Hydrated

It sounds really boring, but drink water. It will keep you hydrated inside and outside.

Layer Moisturizer

Use a lighter texture that dissolves under a moisturizing face oil or balm.

Natural Flush

Choose a blush that matches the color of flushed cheeks.

DIY Body Scrub

Combine magnesium flakes and sea salt in coconut oil for relaxing body scrub.

Go Green

Drink matcha tea in warm water before meals to curb hunger.

Hide Your Greys

Use brown eyebrow mascara to cover grey hairs at the roots.

Get Beach Waves

Apply face moisturizer on ends of your hair and lightly twist or secure into a gentle bun while you sleep. Unwrap in the morning and you’ll have natural looking beach waves.

Detox

Combine fresh lemon juice, one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, a dash of red pepper and Stevia in 12 ounces of water for cleansing detox kick.

Exfoliate

Use potato scrubber gloves to exfoliate dry legs and heels. It works.

Lift Eyes

If you have a concealer shade that is too light, use it under the brow bone for gentle eye lift.

Try Apricot Oil

Apricot oil rocks. Put it everywhere.

Apply Bronzer Everywhere

Think of bronzer as a skin tint. Apply with a large brush on neck, sweep all over the face. (I’m okay with a contour applied under jaw line.) Then add your concealer. Lastly, apply cream or oil to hands and pat bronzer into skin.

Power Up with Protein

Carry a protein powder with you and add into water throughout the day. You’ll keep your blood sugar stable, and ultimately drink more water.

Lip Pencil As Lipstick

Lip pencil makes a great matte lipstick. Add a bit of clear balm after if your lips feel dry.

Swap Wine for Vodka

Switch wine for vodka. There is less sugar and less desire for desert. Cucumbers as a garnish will also save you 100 calories over olives.

Absorb More Water

Drink sea salt water to help with water absorption.

Eat Nori Sheets

Nori sheets make great bread alternative. Add mustard and turkey, and roll them up.

Start With a Smokey Eye

Do smokey eyeshadow before any other makeup so you can clean up spills before adding concealer.

Where to Apply Concealer

Concealer goes under eyes and at the inner corner. Most people need two shades, with the lighter shade applied at the inner corner.

Shimmer

Before going into a party, apply a shimmer oil on your cheekbones and hands. And think beautiful thoughts.

Lemon Ice

Make lemon juice ice cubes to pop in your water. So refreshing.

Plank

Plank first thing in the morning, it holds the tummy in and gets you strong. Start with 10 seconds and build up to two minutes. Try repeating five times.

Exercise Throughout The Day

Exercise doesn’t have to be all at once. Keep doing it throughout the day. Even squats in the lady’s room counts. Walk whenever you can with a goal of 10,000 steps. Go for 12,000 a day if you’re trying to lose weight.
