Bobbi Reviews It: The Joanna Czech Facial

There’s a reason celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Carolyn Murphy, Bella Hadid, and Christy Turlington trust facialist Joanna Czech before they have to step out on the red carpet — she has magic hands. I finally had the chance to experience her work for myself at her Hamptons pop-up and it was incredible.

Joanna has been perfecting her technique for over 30 years and it shows. Not only does she work the skin in a way that I’ve never experienced before, but she uses a number of machines and tools to perfect and tone your complexion. From the second I laid down, I was so relaxed and I did not want to get up when she was finished.

Her treatments are always customized to your skin’s needs. She might use LED therapy (for anti-aging), cryotherapy (to increase product absorption), ultrasound (for gentle exfoliation), or negative ionization (to boost collagen production and circulation). And of course, facial massage. (She’s even created her own tool for facial massages at home.)

I am not someone who spends enough time on self-care — it’s something I need to get better at. I get massages any chance I get, especially when I’m traveling, but I rarely treat myself to a facial. When I left, I could not stop looking at my skin. It was pretty and so smooth. At dinner that night, a woman approached me in the bar just to tell me she noticed how good my skin looked.

A treatment with Joanna has a steep price tag ($850), but I can see why celebrities and others seek her out before a special event. She made me feel like a star for the day.
