Bobbi's Best Mascara Tips

There are many different mascara names and formulas, but they fall into four basic categories. Volumizing and plumping mascaras create the illusion of fuller lashes. Thickening versions bulk up individual lashes. Lengthening elongates lashes. Longwear and waterproof mascaras last the longest, holding product from day to night. Here’s what else you need to know:
Always Use Black Mascara
Go for inky and jet black — even if you have blonde eyelashes. For a more natural look, you can apply to your top lashes only. In general, I love mascara thick and layered. The top should be more intense than bottom lashes.
Application Tips
Take the brush out of the tube and make sure you’ve got enough product on the brush, but that it doesn’t look “clumped.” Dab the wand on tissue if there is too much.
Apply from underneath and gently roll up the lashes. Don’t ever put it on the topside of lashes or it will drag down the eye. Apply two more coats before the mascara dries fully. Let it dry completely on top before you apply to the bottom lashes.
Prevent Smudges
If your mascara smudges, it’s probably because you have on too much eye cream or have naturally oily lids. Use a powder shadow before applying mascara to keep the oils at bay. If you use powder after you apply mascara, it can fall on lashes and change the mascara color!
Curl
If you didn’t curl before application, curl now using your hand for few seconds. Never use a curler after you apply mascara – lashes could break off.
