Bobbi's Beauty School Polished Pop of Color Tutorial

I have known Roseanne for decades. We first met when I was a young makeup artist and she was the art director at a fashion magazine. When we ran into each other a few years ago, I was awestruck by how beautiful she looked since she had stopped coloring her hair. The salt and pepper color brought out so many beautiful features, from her freckles to her brown eyes. This was a look I did as part of a campaign for my eyewear brand and it’s a great lesson in how to add a pop of color without going overboard.

Skin

I used a corrector and concealer to brighten up the area under her eyes — Roseanne has deep set eyes, and this is an easy way to lighten up any shadows.

I didn’t use a lot of foundation, because I really wanted her freckles to show. I focused on using the foundation to get rid of any redness around her nose and to even out her skin from her forehead to her chin. I used a little bit of foundation on her cheeks to warm up her complexion.

I finished by lightly applying a pink blush to her cheeks.

Eyes

To make her eyes really pop, I applied a black eyeliner really close to the lash line. This added the perfect amount of definition. On her lids, I used an ivory and grey shadow and finished with a few coats of black mascara.

Lips

I loved this bright pink lipstick because it gave the whole look a really polished feel.
