It’s no secret that I love the look of glasses. They offer an instant way to change up and enhance your look. (They are also great for covering up a tired face.) But your eyes can get lost beneath the frames unless you adjust your makeup. Here are a few of my favorite ways to make your eyes pop behind your lenses:
Eyeliner is Key
Defining eyes behind statement frames is essential. I recommend using dark brown liner (gel or liquid) on the top lash line to enhance your eye shape. You can also use a thin line of powder eyeliner on the lower lash line.
Define Your Brows
To make sure the glasses don’t overpower your face, fill in your brows with a shadow or pencil that matches your natural hair color.
Use Concealer
The glass in your frames can highlight under eye discoloration and darkness, so concealer is essential. Set it with a yellow-toned powder so it doesn’t glide off.
Match Your Frames
If you are wearing strong frames, you can get away with stronger makeup. If you are wearing delicate frames, or frames in a nude shade, don’t let your makeup overpower them. Choose softer shadow colors that don’t compete with the color of your glasses.
Go for Waterproof
Waterproof mascara is key if you’re prone to smudging, because it won’t smudge on your lenses. I like to do two coats in the blackest color you can find.
Try a Bold Lip
For a quick and easy look, go with a bold lip color and just use concealer and mascara on your eyes.
