Beautifully defined brows have the power to transform your look, but they’re often overlooked and ignored in makeup routines. Why? People aren’t sure where to start, what products to use or how to use them. Here are some of my tips for defining your brows like a pro:
Tweeze Them Into Shape
Over-tweezed and uneven brows can be saved, you just might need to bring in the big guns. Visit a brow professional to help guide you in finding the brow shape that works for your face and help you create a plan to get your brows into a good place. Once you’ve established a shape, you can keep it up on your own by tweezing hairs as they grow in.
Find Your Colors
Your brown color should match your natural hair color. If you have black hair, go with a slightly softer shade, such as a deep brown-black or dark ash brown. If you are blonde, keep brows lighter but within the same tone of your hair.
Fill in Bare Spots
Fill in starting at the inner corner of your brows, brush straight up. For the rest of the brow, brush up and over along the shape of your brow. Use an angled brush and eye shadow or brow powder. If you have bare spots that aren’t fixed with powder, fill them in with a brow pencil in the same tone as your brows.
Tame Unruly Hairs
Use a clear or tinted brow gel to tame any unruly hair. Brush up and out to keep brows looking full and defined.
