All About Jones Road Face Pencils

I’ve always believed that makeup should look like skin. It should blend seamlessly and not just sit on top of the skin. What I love most about the Face Pencils is that they are virtually undetectable, yet they can cover redness, lighten dark spots and circles, correct discoloration, and even out skin tone.
The formula starts with a clear base to prevent the 25 skin-tone correct shades from looking chalky on the skin, which is the main reason foundation can look like a mask. You can even use them as an all over foundation — that’s how natural they look but most people will grab them for a quick on the go touch up. Plus, there’s no need to use powder to set them on most skin types, but can be used if you are oily.
Find Your Shade
Look for the shade that disappears on your cheek and the shade that disappears on your forehead— they’re not always the same. Having both on hand will keep you covered. Use a lighter shade to neutralize darkness under the eye, and at the corners of the mouth. You might even use different shades during different seasons. And if you’re not sure which color to get, we have a shade finder on the site that will guide you.
How to Apply
After moisturizer or face balm (use only what your skin needs; if you’re oily, use less), start around the nose to cover redness. Next, apply around the mouth, spot correct wherever you see discoloration or brown spots, as needed, and blend in with fingers. (I use a lighter color to lighten the darkness at the corners of the mouth.)
To create a wash of coverage, blend pencil with your favorite moisturizer and apply as a foundation. The makeup artist’s dream come true while still being easy enough to master for a newbie.
