3 Ways to Prep Your Skin for Makeup

Taking care of your skin is the key to the most natural looking makeup application, and that includes lashes and brows. In my latest video for Tweezerman, I’m showing you the three products I use to prep the skin before I apply makeup.
Brows
Start by checking your brows for any stray hairs and tweezing as needed. I’ve used the Tweezerman Slant Tweezer for years because it’s truly the best. Once you’ve dealt with any stray hairs, you can gently brush your lashes into place and then use a Brow Pencil to fill in any sparse areas.
Face
When your skin is smooth, it makes a huge difference in how your skincare products absorb and how foundation or tinted moisturizer looks on your skin. I like using the Clear Skin Microderm Tool from Tweezerman once or twice a month to gently exfoliate the skin. It helps to remove dead skin cells, leaving your skin soft, smooth, and ready for makeup. If you have sensitive skin, talk to your dermatologist before using. And don’t forget to apply SPF every single day as part of your skin prep routine—you have to protect your skin!
Lashes
When it comes to lashes, it’s all about getting a curl before applying mascara. I use the Tweezerman Classic Lash Curler to gently curl lashes. You don’t need to pump the curler, just hold for five seconds and you’re done. I always recommend using a really black mascara, it will make your lashes look the best.
