Improving your health doesn’t require a massive overhaul of your life — there are simple changes you can incorporate into your daily routine that will make a huge difference. Pick one or two of these to get started today, then gradually add more into your lifestyle. You will be amazed at how much better you feel.
Drink half your body weight in ounces of fresh water every day.
It will aid your kidneys in getting rid of toxins. This will allow your liver to metabolize fat better.
Quit eating all sweets for 10 days in a row.
This includes sugar in your coffee and tea. Detox yourself off of sugar to gain control of your cravings and increase your energy levels.
Do not use any margarine or hydrogenated vegetable oils.
Use real butter, like Kerry Gold Brand. Eat good fats such as avocado, olives and olive oil. These fats are good for your brain and lubricate your joints.
Avoid all white flour products.
This includes white rolls, bagels and pasta. These foods are highly inflammatory. Bread and pasta are the two greatest weight gain and inflammatory foods.
Eat brown foods and avoid white foods.
Eat brown rice instead of white rice and brown rice pasta or whole-wheat pasta. This will increase your fiber intake and aid in your weight loss.
Do not skip meals.
There should not be more than 5 hours between your 3 meals. Eat small balanced snacks in between to keep your blood sugar stable.
Eat protein at every meal, including snacks.
This will control your appetite and decrease your cravings for sugar and starches.
Take a multivitamin with minerals supplement.
You can also look for a good pre-packaged blister pack of supplements, such as Solutions 4 Daily Essentials or Metagenics. The nutrients will help convert your food into energy. Include ground flax, the fiber will help your weight loss and colon health as well as help you control appetite and cravings, burn fat and increase your metabolism.
Move your body more.
Simply lace up your sneakers and go for a walk. Start out small with 15 minutes a day or commit to 3 or 4 days a week. You will begin to notice a difference in energy and weight reduction.
Make smoothies.
By adding more nutrient rich foods into your system your body will feel more energetic and get the right amounts of fiber to aid in elimination and detoxification. Purchase a Vitamix or powerful blender if you don’t have one, it’s worth the investment.
