Trainer Krystal Weisberg Shares Her Product Obsessions & Future Goals

Written by: Alexandra Perron, Managing Editor

Krystal Weisberg is not your average fitness pro. The former New York City club and nightlife marketer didn’t work out for the first time until she was 28. (Weisberg suffered from an aortic aneurysm at age 14, after which doctors told her to stay away from intense exercise.) She spent years working 80-100 hours a week before she started to feel burnt out and realized just how hard her lifestyle had been on her body. Weisberg decided to leave the nightlife behind and move to New Jersey, where she turned to yoga.

"Yoga paved the way for everything," says Weisberg. "It gives you space to think." Yoga was Weisberg's ah-ha moment and she used it to make a space for herself in the wellness community. After helping other fitness studios with their marketing needs, she started teaching classes and running a fitness studio herself. (She's also Bobbi Brown's new personal trainer!) We caught up to chat about her wellness philosophy, product obsessions and workout soundtrack.

Your big break:

I'm still waiting for it ;)

Currently working on:

I am the head of operations at a fitness studio (with two locations) called Ride+Reflect. I also teach spin, HIIT, yoga and a signature class I created called TPB (tone, pulse, burn). Check out my Instagram @fit.like.krys, where I offer free fitness challenges among other things.

Wellness/Fitness Philosophy:

If you give up, you'll never know.

Sweat Style:

Variety. Don't stick to one thing, you're not a magnet.

Workout Fuel:

Since becoming a fitness instructor, I look at food like fuel. What is going to give me energy? What is going to nourish me? I don't eat right before a workout, I just eat smart overall.

Workout Soundtrack:

Depends on the workout! I would say most of my playlists are EDM or RAP heavy. I have a playlist on Spotify that I keep current. It's called @fit.like.krys current picks. You're welcome.

Product Obsessions:

Aveeno Positively Radiant Face Wipes: I use them after my sweat-fest classes. Takes off all the grossness and leaves me with a glow.

Hydroflask 32oz. Bottle: If I drink two, I know that I am properly hydrated. And it has a straw, so it makes drinking water a lot easier.

Organo Gold Reishi Coffee: Anti-inflammatory and caffeine all in one. It helps with soreness, tightness and just makes my body feel better in general.

Dior Lip Glow: Like chapstick but 100x better. Keeps my lips soft, gives a natural tint and stays on long. I don't wear makeup but it's always nice to have a little lip gloss!

Bumble & Bumble Grooming Creme: It’s the only hair product I've used for 10+ years.

Future Goals:

So many. How far future we talkin'? Next two years: Help open another fitness studio. Next 10 years: Achieve 'Celebrity Trainer' status. Next 20+ years: Be a hot, strong + healthy woman!

Best Advice:

You can make changes in your life and in your body fairly quickly. It doesn't take a lot of time, but it does take a lot of work.
