The first time I worked with Brooke Shields was for Young Miss Magazine when she was just 14-years-old. We were shooting an editorial story of her and her squad of middle school girlfriends. Her mom was also on set. What I remember most was how nice all of the girls at the shoot were.
Fast forward years later and I was still often called upon to do Brooke’s makeup. One of my favorites was a shoot we did for Tatler Magazine in 1995 with the photographer Antoine Verglas. It was one of those good and easy shoots. Brooke looked perfectly gorgeous in every outfit and through every hair and makeup change. We had a beautiful catered lunch with wine and I’ll never forget how she asked that we all stay put as she began to clean the dishes, insisting she didn’t need help. Brooke Shields always was and still is one of the nicest, most down-to-earth superstars that I’ve ever met.
