We want to help you get to know the ingredients in your products better. We’re tapping Jones Road Head of Product Development, Chrissy DeVries, for a little ingredient education.
The Ingredient: Niacinamide
What You Need to Know
Niacinamide is havıng a bit of a moment, and for good reason. This form of Vitamin B3 is commonly found in foods like eggs, whole grains, and leafy greens, but comes with a long list of benefits when included in your regular skincare routine.
Why We Love It
When used topically on the skin, niacinamide can help to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, and can help to even skin tone by improving the appearance of red, blotchy skin, hyperpigmentation (read: sun spots!), and yellowing or sallow skin.
Niacinamide can also help to regulate production of sebum (the oil that causes clogged pores and acne), and reduce the size and visibility of pores. By helping to strengthen your skin’s moisture barrier, niacinamide is essentially signaling your skin to not over produce oil, while helping to increase hydration and reduce water loss.
Where You’ll Find It
Our Light Moisture Cream contains simple, skin-loving, hydrating ingredients like glycerin, propanediol, panthenol, and of course, water, as well as proven effective moisturizers like macadamia seed oil and just a touch of shea butter. This blend creates the perfect environment for niacinamide to do its thing, locking hydration in, and keeping your skin in check.
