I'm really excited to announce that I'm teaming up with Tweezerman to create educational content covering all things beauty and brows. I've used their tweezers and tools throughout my entire makeup career—so it's safe to say that I'm a huge fan. In our first video together, we're going to cover the basics of how to shape and fill in your brows.
Step 1: Shaping
I love a strong, natural looking brow and truly believe that the brows you have are already the perfect shape for your face. The first step is to clean up the shape and define your arch.
I think the best time to tweeze is right out of the shower (and in natural light!) with the Tweezerman Slant Tweezer. I've been using this one for forever because it makes tweezing so easy. Make sure you tweeze in the direction of the hair growth, otherwise you'll end up just breaking off the hair instead of pulling it out at the root.
Use a spoolie brush to brush your brow hairs up to see the shape as you continue to tweeze. Remember: Start slow and take your time. Once you take away those hairs, it’s not easy to go back.
Step 2: Defining
Once you have your desired shape, you can start to fill in using a brow pencil or a shadow (I like using The Best Eyeshadow in Dark Brown).
With The Brow Pencil, I like to use two colors to avoid making the brows too dark. I always start with the lighter shade, working from the inside and brushing up using light, feathery strokes. Then you can go in with the darker shade and add more color.
If you're using a powder, you'll want to apply using an angled brush. (The Tweezerman Angled Brow Brush & Spoolie is perfect for this.) Use a gentle hand and apply using upward strokes like you would with a pencil.
Once your brows are filled in, you can go back in and trim with a Brow Scissors. Brush up with your spoolie brush and carefully trim away any long and unruly hairs. (This step is a must for men too!)
In the end, it's all about having the right tools and Tweezerman is the absolute best when it comes to brows. Can't wait to share more of my tips and tricks with you!
