Beauty Quick Tip: How to Make Pink Eyeshadow Work

Pink eyeshadow isn’t always easy to pull off and often just makes you look tired. The key is using proper concealer under the eye and finishing the look with a super black mascara. Want to try it this holiday? Here are my tips:
Always Use Concealer With This Look
Under eye concealer is not the same as the concealer you use to cover a blemish. The purpose here is to lighten and hide darkness under the eyes. Look for a yellow-based color that is one shade lighter than your natural skin tone. When it comes to formula, go for creamy. It will blend easily and last all day. Apply with your finger or a brush and gently tap in. Set the concealer with a powder. Yellow-tone powders work for most, but white powder may work better for pale skin and peach is usually better on darker skin.
Pick Your Shadow
There is no one right pink shadow color out there, it’s all about your personal preference – soft pink to mocha are great choices. Try a few shades or blend your own. To guarantee long lasting color, grab a cream to powder shadow and apply using your finger.
Layer on the Mascara
Black mascara looks good on everyone and instead of eyeliner, gives the eyes a strength that looks good with pink eyeshadow. Look for the blackest mascara you can find and start by coating the top lashes. Coat the entire lash, getting as close to the root as possible. Don’t be afraid to layer different formulas (volumizing, thickening, lengthening, etc) — just make sure you let it dry between coats to avoid clumps.
