Miracle Balm 101: 3 Ways to Wear It

There’s a reason this is called Miracle Balm. This hybrid product soothes, moisturizes and adds a glow to the skin, instantly making you look so much better. If your skin is drier, you can apply it over a moisturizer and if you tend to be oily, you can keep it on the cheeks and neck as well as lips and eyes.

The tinted balms can be used as an alternative to foundation or even tinted moisturizer. They work on the eyelids as an eyeshadow with a bit of glow, as a blush on the apple of the cheek and as a tinted lip balm. And since it’s sheer, it can fit any mood.

I tend to use Miracle Balm all over as a tint, correcting the lighter areas (under the neck) and to address any unevenness on the face. (It's also great for correcting a foundation that is just sitting on the skin.) The balm is beautiful on the legs and can help tame those pesky flyaways.

The Shades

Au Naturel works on all skin tones and can be used anywhere you want that dewy glow — it really brings your skin to life. It’s also a favorite of men, especially those in drier climates, and athletes.

Dusty Rose is a great way to perk up sallow skin after the summer. It’s beautiful on porcelain skin and on women with a little pinky undertone. Try it on the lips or on the cheeks as sheer blush. I like to wear it all over and layer a bit of Tawny on top of the cheek.

Tawny, a brownish red, is my go to — especially when I want to look super healthy. It works great on medium to dark skin tones. I really love it on deeper black skin as a highlighter and glow enhancer.

Bronze can be used to help to even out foundation and add definition. It helps counteract ruddiness, adds warmth to the skin and works super well on freckles and deeper skin tones.

Magic Hour is a diffused highlight with silver and gold shimmer. Super versatile, I love using this shade on lips, eyelids, and cheeks. It’s sheer enough for all skin tones.

Sunkissed, a deep brownish with subtle gold shimmer, will help give skin that summer glow while adding definition. It’s great on medium to deep skin tones.

Golden Hour is my solution to any bad beauty day. The shade is a peachy-golden tint infused with gold sparkle, working to give skin warmth and dimension. It perfectly captures that warm, golden sunset light that makes everyone look good.

Flushed is a warm pink with flecks of gold that instantly brightens, adds luminosity, and gives you a pop of pink on cheeks, lips, and eyes.

Here are three ways to wear Miracle Balm right now…

Face & Cheeks

I love using Miracle Balm to add natural definition and a subtle wash of color. On Nancy, I used Tawny — I love how it instantly warms up her complexion. I used my palms to press it in all over her skin and on her forehead. I added a second coat directly on her cheeks as a sheer blush and high on the cheekbones, patting it on gently with my fingertips.

Lips

Because Miracle Balm is super moisturizing (thanks to jojoba seed oil and argan oil), it's great on the lips — especially now that the weather is getting cooler. Daniela is wearing Au Naturel on her lips for sheer moisture. She also has it on her face and cheeks.

Eyes

I’m a huge fan of a glossy lid, but it’s not the easiest or most practical look for every day. Miracle Balm gives you that same sheen but without the heaviness or stickiness that can come with an eye gloss. I used Bronze on Mecca’s lids and skin for a tinted glow. The best part? You can’t mess it up.

Pro Tip: When you first open your Miracle Balm, take your fingers and break the seal of the product to get it going. It becomes less hard and easier to apply.
